MEMPHIS ATTORNEY PLACED ON DISABILITY
On April 26, 2007, the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an Order transferring the law license
of George Russell Stanton, Jr., of Memphis, Tennessee, to disability inactive status. Section 21 of Rule 9, Rules
of the Tennessee Supreme Court, provides that if a lawyer is so incapacitated that he cannot adequately practice
law, his law license may be transferred to disability inactive status. In this case, Mr. Stanton requested a
transfer to disability inactive status based upon a medical condition. The Board of Professional Responsibility,
by and through Disciplinary Counsel, has agreed to the transfer based upon the report of Dr. Kenneth F. Tullis.
Mr. Stanton may have his license reinstated upon showing that his disability no longer exists.
