KNOX COUNTY LAWYER DISBARRED AND ORDERED TO PAY RESTITUTION

On June 6, 2012, the Tennessee Supreme Court disbarred John Threadgill, a Knoxville attorney, and
ordered restitution of $266,183.40 to seven former clients.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr. Threadgill pursuant
to Rule 9, Section 8.2, of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. A Hearing Panel found Mr. Threadgill
misappropriated client funds; neglected client matters; failed to communicate with clients; engaged in
dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation; and commingled client, personal and business funds.

Mr. Threadgill’s actions violate Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (competence); 1.3 (diligence), 1.5
(fees); 1.15 (safeguarding funds); 1.16 (terminating representation) and 8.4 (misconduct).

Mr. Threadgill was ordered to pay the expenses and costs of the disciplinary proceedings against him,
pursuant to Rule 9, Section 24.3, of the Rules of the Supreme Court and fully comply in all respects with the
requirements and obligations of disbarred attorneys as set forth in Rule 9, Section 18.
