ORDER OF ENFORCEMENT
This matter is before the Court upon a Petition for Discipline filed against
Respondent, Kevin William Teets, Jr., on December 29, 2021; upon a Supplemental
Petition for Discipline filed against Respondent on April 26, 2022; upon the Boardâs
Motion for Default Judgment and that the Charges in the Petition and Supplemental
Petition for Discipline Be Deemed Admitted filed on June 1, 2022; upon entry of the
Hearing Panelâs Order Granting the Boardâs Motion for Default Judgment, on June 16,
2022; upon service of the Order Granting Default Judgment upon Mr. Teets by the
Executive Secretary of the Board on June 16, 2022; upon the Respondentâs Motion for Set
Aside of Default Judgment Pursuant to T.R.C.P. 55.02 and 60.02(5) filed on June 23, 2022;
upon entry of the Hearing Panelâs Memorandum Opinion and Order on July 19, 2022,
vacating its June 16, 2022, Order and ordering Respondent to file an answer to the Petition
and Supplemental Petition for Discipline; upon the Respondentâs Answer to the Petition
and Supplemental Petition filed on July 26, 2022; upon a Second Supplemental Petition for
Discipline filed on December 15, 2022; upon the Respondentâs Answer to the Second
Supplemental Petition for Discipline filed on December 29, 2022; upon the Notice of
Hearing issued by the Executive Secretary of the Board on May 9, 2023; upon a final
hearing on June 27, 2023; upon the Hearing Panelâs Judgment entered on August 25, 2023;
upon service of the Judgment upon Mr. Teets by the Executive Secretary of the Board on
August 25, 2023; upon the Boardâs Application for Assessment of Costs filed on
September 8, 2023; upon the Order Approving Application for Assessment of Costs filed
on September 15, 2023; upon service of the Order Approving Application for Assessment
of Costs by the Executive Secretary of the Board upon Mr. Teets on September 15, 2023;
upon the expiration of the appeal period with no appeal taken; and upon the entire record
in this cause.
From all of which the Court approves the Order of the Hearing Panel and adopts the
Hearing Panelâs Judgment of August 25, 2023, as the Courtâs Order.
On October 13, 2021, Mr. Teets was suspended by this Court pursuant to Tenn. Sup.

Ct. R. 9, §§ 12.2 and 15.4 (No. 2019-2963-5-JM). To date, Mr. Teets has not filed a
Petition for Reinstatement of his license that complies with the Rules, nor has he been
granted reinstatement.
IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND
DECREED BY THE COURT THAT:
(1) Mr. Teets is suspended for four (4) years, with fifteen (15) months served as
an active suspension and the remaining thirty-three (33) months on probation pursuant to
Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.2, the grant of which is conditioned upon:
(a) Mr. Teets continuing treatment and recovery through TLAP for the
entire period of probation under a monitoring agreement with TLAP
pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9, Sections 14.1 and 36.1(d); and
(b) Mr. Teets developing a restitution payment plan requiring Mr. Teets
to pay $55,157.50 during the probationary period to the eight (8)
victims listed in Exhibit A to the Hearing Panelâs Judgment filed
August 25, 2023, to be apportioned among the victims in accordance
with the amounts shown therein.
(2) Mr. Teets shall, before resuming the practice of law for the term of his
probation, secure legal employment in a group setting and engage a practice monitor who
will supervise him for at least the first year of his probationary period;
(3) Additionally, Mr. Teets shall comply in all aspects with Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9,
§§ 28 and 30.4, regarding the obligations and responsibilities of suspended attorneys and
the procedure for reinstatement.
(4) Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.1, this Order shall be effective
immediately upon entry.
(5) Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 31.3 (d), Mr. Teets shall pay to the Board
of Professional Responsibility the expenses and costs of this matter in the amount of
$5,089.00, which includes the $100.00 filing fee the Board of Professional Responsibility
paid to the Clerk of this Court to initiate this proceeding and shall also pay to the Clerk of
this Court the costs incurred herein, if any, within ninety (90) days of the entry of this
Order, for all of which execution may issue if necessary.
(6) The Board of Professional Responsibility shall cause notice of this discipline
to be published as required by Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.11.
