NASHVILLE LAWYER REMOVED FROM DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS

By Order of the Supreme Court filed February 27, 2007, Rex E. Leatherwood of Nashville was removed
from disability inactive status and reinstated to the practice of law on the conditions that he: 1) strictly comply
with the Monitoring/Advocacy Agreement entered with the Tennessee Lawyers Assistance Program on
September 27, 2005; 2) strictly comply with a law practice Monitoring/Mentoring Agreement dated December
1, 2006, for a period of two years; and 3) comply with all requirements of the Commission on Continuing Legal
Education. Mr. Leatherwood had been placed on disability inactive status by Agreed Order entered on
September 15, 1998. Mr. Leatherwood filed a Petition for Reinstatement on March 14, 2005. The Supreme
Court had previously entered an Agreed Order on June 5, 2006, which provided that Mr. Leatherwood would be
removed from disability inactive status and reinstated to the practice of law on conditions, including successful
completion of the essay portion of the Tennessee Bar Examination, and entering and strictly complying with a
law practice Monitoring/Mentoring Agreement approved by the Board of Professional Responsibility. Mr.
Leatherwood successfully completed the essay portion of the bar examination and entered a monitoring
contract.
