PUBLIC CENSURE

The above eomplsint was filed against Jamie Keith Ferrell, an attorney lioensed to

practice law in Tennessee, alleging certain sets of misconduct. Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule

9, the Board of Professional Responsibiiity considered these matters at its meeting on September

21, 2012.

Respondent was lio ensed to pi‘ectioe law in Mississippi in 2006. After practicing law in

Mississippi for several years, Respondent successfully completed the July 2008 Tennessee Bar

Exam and received his temporary certificate of eligibility to practice law in Termosgss on

February 19, 2009. However, he was not sworn in. Next, Respondent opened a law office in

Shelby County, Tennessee and launched a website, promoting his legal services. Respondent

submitted a registration form with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility on April

20, 2009. Respondent was finally sworn in by affidavit on May 21, 2009.

Respond est failed to comply with the swearing in requirements of Tennessee Supreme

Court Rule ’6 until Mary 21, 2009. Prior to that time, Respondent had already opened a law office

in Tennessee and launeheti a website promoting his legal sewiees.
By tha aibremenfionad acts, Jami Keith Ferrell, has violated Rule of Professional

Oomduot 5.5 (a) (unauthorized practice of law) and 8.4 (a) (misconduct) and is hereby Publicly

Censured for these viofiations‘
