TENNESSEE ATTORNEY CENSURED
On October 16, 2019, James Douglas Mory, an attorney licensed to practice law in Kentucky and
Tennessee, received a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme
Court.
Mr. Moryâs Tennessee law license was administratively suspended on August 22, 2018 for
noncompliance with his CLE requirements. Thereafter, Mr. Mory engaged in the unauthorized practice of law
by continuing to represent his Tennessee clients until the reinstatement of his license.
By these acts, James Douglas Mory, has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5 (unauthorized
practice of law) and is hereby Publicly Censured for this violation.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
