IN THE SUPREME COURT OF TENNESSEE
AT NASHVILLE

IN RE: A. SAIS PHILLIPS FINNEY, BPR #028845
An Attorney Licensed to Practice Law in Tennessee
(Shelby County)
______________________

No. M2020-01482-SC-BAR-BP
BOPR No. 2020-3133-9-AW-12.3
______________________

ORDER DISSOLVING TEMPORARY SUSPENSION

This matter is before the Court upon the Petition for Temporary Suspension
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3, filed by the Board of Professional Responsibility
on October 26, 2020. On October 29, 2020, an Order of Temporary Suspension was
entered based upon A. Sais Phillips Finney’s failure to respond to the Board. On October
30, 2020, Ms. Finney filed a Petition for Dissolution of Temporary Suspension, stating that
she had responded to the Board and requesting dissolution of the temporary suspension.

On November 4, 2020, the Board filed a response with this Court. The Board’s
response states that the Board “admits Petitioner, on October 30, 2020, provided responses
to the Board’s prior requests for information which Disciplinary Counsel has reviewed and
deems responsive to the previous request.” The Board’s response then states: “Pursuant to
Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3 (d), Ms. Finney is entitled to an immediate hearing on the
present Petition for Dissolution of Temporary Suspension.”

Because the Board admits that the reason for the temporary suspension of Ms.
Finney has now been resolved, there is no reason under Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3 (d) to
hold a hearing on the petition for dissolution of her temporary suspension. Accordingly,
Ms. Finney is entitled to immediate dissolution of the temporary suspension.

IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED
THAT:

1. The temporary suspension imposed upon A. Sais Phillips Finney by Order of
Temporary Suspension entered October 29, 2020, is hereby dissolved.

2. The Board of Professional Responsibility shall cause notice of this
reinstatement to be published as required by Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.11.
