PUBLIC CENSURE.
The above complaint was ï¬led against Francis Michael Deslauriers, #12051, an attorney
licensed to practice law in Tennessee, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pursuant to Teen. Sup.
Ct, R. 9, the Board ofProfessional Responsibility considered these matters at its meeting on March
10, 2017.
In August of2012, Mr. Desleuriers was retained to represent a client in a lawsuit against
an insurance company for a property damage claim. However, Mr. Deslauriers ï¬led nothing in the
ease, and did not communicate with his client, despite the clientâs numerous requests for updates.
Eventually, Mr, Deslaustiers ï¬led a complaint in. January of 2015, over two years after his client
retained him. In March of 201 6, after another year of taking no action and failing to communicate
with his client, Mr, Deslauriers informed his client that he had failed to serve the defendants or
take their depositions, resulting in his clientâs case being dismissed.
By the aforementioiied acts, Mr. Deslautlets has violated Rules of Professional Conduct
1.1 (competence), l.3 (diligence), 1.4 (communication), 3.2 (expediting litigation), and 8.4
(misconduct) and is hereby PubliclyâCensured for these Violations.
