ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
This matter is before the Court upon a petition to transfer Jerry Lynn Vance to
disability inactive status ï¬led by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.3.
Upon due consideration of documentation from Mr. Vanceâs medical care
provider submitted by Mr. Vanceâs family, the Court concludes that Jerry Lynn Vance is
currently incapacitated from continuing the practice of law.
IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED BY THE
COURT THAT:
1. The law license of Jerry Lynn Vance shall be transferred to disability
inactive status for an indeï¬nite period of time and until further orders of the Supreme
Court.
2. Mr. Vance shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 95 § 27.7.
3. The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
. 9, §§ 27.5 and 28.11.!
4. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4, documents other than this Order
relating to Mr. Vanceâs disability proceeding shall not be public records and shall be kept
conï¬dential.
