DAVIDSON COUNTY LAWYER SUSPENDED
On September 30, 2009, David S. Weed of Nashville, Tennessee was suspended by the Tennessee
Supreme Court pursuant to a Conditional Guilty Plea for a period of three (3) years pursuant to Section 4.2 of
Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court. Mr. Weedâs suspension will be effective ten (10) days from the date of the
Supreme Court Order.
Mr. Weed, as Director of the Tennessee Receiverâs Office, commingled receivership funds and failed to
maintain adequate accounting records thereby violating Rules 1.3; 1.15; 3.4(c), and 8.4(a)(c)(d) of the Rules of
Professional Conduct.
Mr. Weed was ordered to pay the expenses and costs of the disciplinary proceeding pursuant to Section
24.3 of Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court, and must fully comply with the requirements and obligations of
suspended attorneys as set forth in Section 18.1 of Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court. Mr. Weed must comply
with Section 19 of Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court, should he seek reinstatement of his law license and not
resume the practice of law until reinstated by further Order of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Weed must comply with Section 18 of Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court, regarding the
obligations and responsibilities of suspended attorneys.
