June 29, 2010
NASHVILLE LAWYER CENSURED

On June 25, 2010, Connie Allison of Nashville, Tennessee, was publicly censured by the Tennessee
Supreme Court.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Ms. Allison pursuant to
Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Ms. Allison submitted a Conditional Guilty Plea that
was approved by the Hearing Panel, the Board and the Supreme Court. Ms. Allison violated the Rules of
Professional Conduct by failing to preserve the confidences of a client during the termination of her
representation of the client as a result of a conflict of interest. Ms. Allison’s actions violated the following
Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.2 (Scope of the Representation and the Allocation of Authority Between the
Lawyer and Client), 1.6 (Confidentiality), 1.7 (Conflict of Interest), 1.8 (Conflict of Interest: Prohibited
Transactions), 1.16 (Declining and Terminating Representation), 2.2 (Lawyer Serving as an Intermediary
Between Clients), 3.3(j) (Candor Toward the Tribunal) and 8.4 (Misconduct). Ms. Allison was further ordered
to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceedings.

For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censured Connie Allison. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to practice law.
