ORDER OF ENFORCEMENT
This matter is before the Court upon a Petition for Discipline filed against
Christopher Shawn Roberts on July 27, 2024; upon the Answer filed on October 2, 2023;
upon an Order filed by the Hearing Panel on December 11, 2023; upon service of the Order
on Mr. Roberts by the Executive Secretary of the Board on December 11, 2023; upon a
Supplemental Petition for Discipline filed on December 20, 2023; upon the Answer to
Supplemental Petition for Discipline filed on January 2, 2024; upon Joint Stipulation filed
on January 23, 2024; upon the Hearing Panelâs Judgment filed on March 7, 2024; upon
service of the Judgment of the Hearing Panel on Mr. Roberts by the Executive Secretary
of the Board on March 7, 2024; upon the Boardâs Application for Assessment of Costs
filed on March 8, 2024; upon the Hearing Panelâs Findings and Judgment for Assessment
of Costs filed on March 28, 2024; upon service of the Findings and Judgment for
Assessment of Costs of the Hearing Panel on Mr. Roberts by the Executive Secretary of
the Board on March 28, 2024; upon expiration of the appeal period with no appeal taken;
and upon the entire record in this cause.
From all of which, the Court approves the Judgment of the Hearing Panel and adopts
the Hearing Panelâs judgment of disbarment.
On October 13, 2023, Mr. Roberts was temporarily suspended by this Court
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 12.3 (Case No. M2023-01439-SC-BPR-BP). To date,
Mr. Roberts has not requested nor been granted reinstatement.
IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND
DECREED BY THE COURT THAT:
(1) Mr. Roberts is permanently disbarred from the practice of law pursuant to
Tenn. Sup. Ct., R., § 12.1.
(2) Mr. Roberts shall pay restitution to Mr. John Greene in the amount of
$2,405.50, pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R, § 12.7. In the event restitution is made by the
Tennessee Lawyersâ Fund for Client Protection (TLFCP), Mr. Roberts shall reimburse
TLFCP in the same amount.
(3) Mr. Roberts shall comply in all aspects with Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28
regarding the obligations and responsibilities of disbarred attorneys.
(4) Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 31.3(d), Mr. Roberts shall pay to the Board
of Professional Responsibility the expenses and costs it has incurred to date in this matter
in the amount of $1,960.00, which includes $100.00 for the cost of filing this matter and
shall pay to the Clerk of this Court any additional costs incurred herein. All costs, fees, and
expenses awarded or assessed herein shall be paid within ninety (90) days of the entry of
this Order, for which execution, if necessary, may issue.
(5) The Order of Temporary Suspension entered October 13, 2023 (Case No.
M2023-01439-SC-BPR-BP), is hereby dissolved.
(6) The Board of Professional Responsibility shall cause notice of this discipline
to be published as required by Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.11.
(7) Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 28.1, this Order shall be effective upon
entry.
