Public censure on November 1, 1996. Two complaints were filed against Mayes. In the first
matter, she both neglected the client's legal matter, which began in 1990, and failed to respond to
her client's request for information. In the second matter, she took on representation with regard
to preparing an antenuptial contract. She drew up the contract and had both parties sign it after
the marriage, rendering it invalid.
