TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF MEMPHIS LAWYER REMOVED;
DISCIPLINARY SUSPENSION REMAINS IN EFFECT
On September 24, 2010, the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an order dissolving the temporary
suspension of King Bethel Harris. Mr. Harris was summarily and temporarily suspended for failure to
respond to a disciplinary complaint on May 27, 2010. Section 4.3 of Supreme Court Rule 9 provides for
the immediate summary suspension of an attorney=s license to practice law in cases of an attorney=s failure
to respond to the Board regarding a complaint of misconduct.
Although the temporary suspension has been dissolved, Mr. Harris is also serving a suspension
based upon a prior disciplinary matter. To date, Mr. Harris has not requested, nor has he been granted,
reinstatement to the practice of law from that prior disciplinary matter.
