Public censure on May 20, 1997. He was employed to represent a criminal defendant on a post-
conviction petition. The petition was dismissed and Roberts filed a Notice of Appeal. His client
made numerous requests to be allowed to review the appellate brief prior to its filing. He told
the client he would be furnished the brief before it was filed; however, Roberts filed the brief
without allowing the client to review it. The brief filed was found to be insufficient in that three
arguments were listed as issues but only two were briefed.
