COVINGTON ATTORNEY PUBLICLY CENSURED

On October 24, 2006, the Board of Professional Responsibility issued a Public
Censure to Richard D. Cartwright, of Covington, Tennessee. He did not request a hearing.
Cartwright neglected his client’s legal matter, failed to adequately communicate with his client
and was dilatory in communicating with Disciplinary Counsel. The Board determined that
Cartwright’s conduct was in violation of Rules 1.3, 1.4 and 8.4(a)(d) of the Tennessee Rules of
Professional Conduct.

A public censure is a form of discipline that declares the conduct of the lawyer
improper but does not limit the lawyer’s right to practice law.
