FORMER MURFREESBORO ATTORNEY SUSPENDED

On March 25, 2004, the Supreme Court of Tennessee entered an Order suspending Shawn M.
Ashcraft from the practice of law for twenty (20) months, retroactive to Ashcraft’s temporary
suspension on May 8, 2002.

On May 8, 2002, the Supreme Court of Tennessee ordered the immediate and temporary
suspension of Ashcraft for misappropriation. The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a
petition for discipline against Ashcraft on October 3, 2002. Ashcraft filed an answer to the
petition on October 30, 2002. On June 23, 2003, the Board of Professional Responsibility filed a
supplemental petition for discipline which Ashcraft answered on August 14, 2003. On January
6, 2004, Ashcraft submitted a conditional guilty plea agreeing to a twenty (20) months
suspension, retroactive to his temporary suspension on May 8, 2002. On March 5, 2004, a
hearing panel of the Board of Professional Responsibility approved Ashcraft’s conditional guilty
plea. On March 25, 2004, the Supreme Court entered an Order suspending Ashcraft for twenty
(20) months.

Ashcraft’s disciplinary case was held pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 8 and 9. To be reinstated
to the practice of law, Ashcraft must show by clear and convincing evidence that his reinstate-
ment will not be detrimental to the integrity and standing of the bar or the administration of
justice or subversive to the public’s interest.
