DAVIDSON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On February 19, 2019, Terry Renease Clayton was publicly censured by Order of the Tennessee
Supreme Court. Mr. Clayton must pay the Boardâs costs and expenses and the court costs within ninety days of
the entry of the Order of Enforcement.
Mr. Clayton represented the plaintiffs in a personal injury case. In a Court of Appeals brief, and a Court
of Appeals oral argument, Mr. Clayton attributed a statement to defense counsel that does not appear in the
record.
Mr. Claytonâs ethical misconduct violates Rules of Professional Conduct 3.1, Meritorious Claims and
Contentions; and 3.3(a)(1), Candor toward the Tribunal.
