MEMPHIS ATTORNEY REINSTATED

By Order of the Supreme Court entered on April 15, 2010, Valerie Mann Horton has been reinstated to
the practice of law. Ms. Horton was disbarred on August 17, 1991, following the entry of a default judgment
recommending disbarment. Ms. Horton filed a Petition for Reinstatement on October 5, 2005. By Judgment
filed on October 4, 2006, a Hearing Panel concluded that Ms. Horton’s license to practice law should be
reinstated upon her satisfaction of several conditions which included sitting for and passing the Tennessee bar
exam and making restitution to her former clients. Based on the fulfillment of each condition set forth in the
Hearing Panel’s Judgment, the Supreme Court determined that Ms. Horton has the moral qualifications,
competency and learning in the law required for admission to practice law and that her resumption of the
practice of law will not be detrimental to the integrity or standing of the bar or the administration of justice, or
subversive to the public interest.

Ms. Horton’s reinstatement will become effective ten (10) days after the filing of the Order.
