BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
August 1, 2006
COOKEVILLE LAWYER CENSURED
Samuel J. Harris, a Cookeville attorney, received a Public Censure from the Board of
Professional Responsibility on August 1, 2006. Mr. Harris engaged in the practice of law for a
period after he was administratively suspended from the practice of law on September 5, 2005,
for failing to pay his Board of Professional Responsibility registration fee. When advised of his
suspension, Mr. Harris paid the necessary fee and was reinstated on February 2, 2006. Mr.
Harris' practicing law while on administrative suspension violated Rule of Professional Conduct
5.5(a).
A Public Censure is a form of public discipline which declares the conduct of the lawyer
improper but does not limit the lawyer's right to practice.
