PUBLIC CENSURE â
The above complaint was ï¬led against Fernando Jose Ramos, an attorney licensed to
practice law in Tennessee, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pursuant to Supreme Court Ruie .
9, the Board of Professional Reeponsibility considered this matter at its meeting on June 10,
2011.
011 July 18, 2009, the Respondent was sospencied from the practice Of law for three years.
The Respondent did not inform his client of the suspension. Instead, he transferred the clientâs
ï¬le to another attorney without communicating with or obtaining perinission ï¬rom the client.
The informaiion provided demonstrates that the Respondent failed to maintain reasonable
communication with his oiieni, by negieeting to {uniform him ï¬int he had been suspended from the
practice of low and by fomarding bin oiientâs ï¬le to. anoï¬ier lawyer without his oï¬entâs
knowledge or consent. However, ail of this conduct occurred amend the time of the
Respondentâs suspension. Since that time, an additional tinee~year suspension has been imposed
for conduct similar to the present moiter.
By the aforementioned aots, Fernando lose "Ramos, has violated 1.2 (S cepe of -
Representation), 1.4 (Communication), 3.6 (Conï¬dentiality), and. 1.16 (Declining and
Terminating Representation) of Profassional Conduot and is heraby Pubï¬oly Censured for these
violations.
