Suspended by Supreme Court on February 5, 1999 upon his federal conviction in January 1999
of corruptly endeavoring to obstruct justice and aiding and abetting in that offense while acting
as defense counsel in a federal criminal case. On January 20, 2000, the U.S. District Court
entered a judgment of acquittal as to the first count of the indictment (regarding which the jury
had previously deadlocked) and granted Saripkin a new trial as to the second count. His license
to practice law was reinstated by order entered February 1, 2000.
