KNOXVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On April 17, 2008, John Earl Rainwater of Knoxville, Tennessee, was suspended by the Tennessee
Supreme Court for a period of one year, retroactive to September 1, 2007, pursuant to Rule, Section 4.2, of the
Rules of the Supreme Court.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Rainwater pursuant to
Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Rainwater submitted a Conditional Guilty Plea agreeing to
accept the one year suspension.
The Tennessee Supreme Court further ordered that Rainwater pay the costs of the disciplinary
proceedings brought against him.
