ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
This matter is before the Court upon a petition to transfer Charles David Deas to
disability inactive status filed by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.9,§ 27.3.
Upon due consideration ofthe facts and circumstances demonstrated by the record,
the Court concludes Mr. Deas is currently incapacitated from continuing the practice of
law and unable to respond to or defend against any pending disciplinary matter.
IT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED, AND
DECREED BY THE COURT THAT:
The law license of Charles David Deas shall be transferred to disability

inactive status for an indefinite period oftime and until further order ofthe Supreme Court.
In addition, any pending disciplinary matter shall be stayed until further order ofthis Court.
The Amended Order of Temporary Suspension entered October 12, 2020

(Case No. M2020-01376-SC-BPR-BP)is hereby dissolved.
Mr. Deas shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status

pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.9, § 27.7.

The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9,§§ 27.5 and 28.11.
Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4, documents other than this Order

relating to Mr. Deas' disability proceeding shall not be public records and shall be kept
confidential.
