BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
August 3, 2004
NASHVILLE LAWYER CENSURED
Loren E. Mulraine, a Nashville attorney, received a Public Censure from the Board of
Professional Responsibility on July 28, 2004. Mr. Mulraine teaches at a university and maintains a
part-time law practice. By Order of the Supreme Court entered September 24, 2003, Mr. Mulraine
was placed on administrative suspension for failure to pay the Board of Professional Responsibility
fees. Mr. Mulraine accepted representation of a client on December 10, 2003. Mr. Mulraine paid
the Board of Professional Responsibility fees on March 31, 2004. Mr. Mulraine's accepting
representation of a client while on administrative suspension for failure to pay fees to the Board of
Professional Responsibility violated Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5(a) and he was Publicly
Censured for that violation.
A Public Censure is a form of public discipline which declares the conduct of the lawyer
improper but does not limit the lawyer's right to practice.
