MURFREESBORO LAWYER CENSURED

Carla Ann Kent Ford, a Murfreesboro attorney, was publicly censured by the Board of
Professional Responsibility on October 31, 2002, for failing to segregate and deposit into her
trust account that portion of the fee which Ms. Ford charged for an uncontested, irreconcilable
differences divorce which was to be paid to the court clerk as the filing fee for the divorce.

The censure was issued by the Board of Professional Responsibility and there was no
request for a hearing by Ms. Ford. The Board of Professional Responsibility determined that Ms.
Ford's conduct adversely reflected upon her fitness to practice law in violation of DR 9-102(A)
of the Code of Professional Responsibility.

A public censure is a form of public discipline which declares the conduct of the lawyer improper,
but does not limit the lawyer's right to practice law.
