NASHVILLE LAWYER CENSURED
On January 26, 2009, Cynthia J. Bohn, of Nashville, Tennessee, received a Public Censure from the
Board of Professional Responsibility.
The Respondent represented the adversary wife in a contested divorce. The Complainant represented
the husband/medical doctor. The partiesâ depositions were taken on July 10, 2008. In response to a comment
by the adversary husband, the Respondent became upset and stated they were going to terminate the deposition
and, using an expletive, told the husband to get out of her office. The Respondent left the conference room.
While the husband, his attorney, and the court reporter were gathering to leave the office, the Respondent
returned to the conference room and, again using the expletive, told them to get out of her office or she would
call the sheriff. The Respondentâs conduct was in violation of the Rules of Professional Conduct 4.4(a).
For these violations, the Board of Professional Responsibility publicly censures Cynthia J. Bohn. A
Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to practice
law.
