GREENEVILLE ATTORNEY REINSTATED
Lawrence A. Welch, Jr., attorney of Greeneville, Tennessee, has been reinstated to the
practice of law by Order of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, filed September 17, 2001. On
August 13, 2001, the Supreme Court entered an order temporarily suspending Welch based upon
Welchâs failure to respond to the Board regarding requests for information concerning a
complaint of misconduct. A hearing was held before a panel of the Board of Professional
Responsibility which recommended that Welch should be reinstated to the practice of law since
Welch did file a bare response to the underlying complaint of misconduct, even though the panel
questioned the adequacy and timeliness of Welchâs response. The Supreme Court accepted the
recommendation of the Boardâs hearing panel and reinstated Welch on September 17, 2001.
