Public censure on February 4, 1988. His client spent 1-1/2 years in prison for rape because a
blood test, which could have proven his innocence, was not taken. He failed to fully investigate
this case and to advise his client fully and sufficiently enough so that the client would have been
in a proper position to make a complete judgment. Stein admitted understanding the use and
significance of the secretion blood test and should have advised his client of the availability of
that test and of the ramifications of his client having a blood test type done, if he did not know
what his blood type was.
