How can lawyers use AI effectively, comply with ethics rules ranging from competence to confidentiality, meet their obligations to clients, and not wind up as the next front-page example of lawyer stupidity? 1.0 3:10 - 4:10 Not so Secret an Agent Lawyers are not spies, but they do serve as agents for a principal. This sixty-minute session provides a comprehensive overview of the obligations owed by a lawyer, as a fiduciary, to clients. There will be a focus on attorneys who represent clients with diminished capacity and a discussion of efforts to modify the ethics rules governing the representation of children, cognitively impaired adults, and others with certain challenges. A summary of significant recent trends in lawyer regulation will also be featured. Jim Grogan

The Board of Professional Responsibility's 2025 Ethics Workshop will be held at Nashville School of Law in the Auditorium.

            

Directions

            

The Nashville School of Law building is located towards the end of Armory Oaks Drive. Please note that the parking accommodations are in the front and sides of the law school building. You may park in any spot that is not labeled "Reserved" or "Faculty". 

            

When you turn onto Armory Drive, continue straight, go past the Rafferty's, and take a right into the parking lot. There are several entrances to the parking lot. The law shool's parking lot is on the right, directly across from the BMW of Nashville.

            

When you enter the law school, take a left from the lobby, then an immediate right, and the Auditorium entrance doors are the first two doors on the right side of the hallway.
