HALT, a legal consumer organization, ranks the Tennessee lawyer discipline system fourth best nationwide,
behind Connecticut, Colorado and Arizona.
HALT issued its 2006 Report Card based upon their survey and evaluation of each state’s disciplinary system.
Tennessee’s grades in each category assessed were:

In reference to Fairness and Openness HALT’s Report cited the Board’s website, www.tbpr.org, as being,
jam-packed with information about the disciplinary process; that complainants, as well as the general public,
have the right to attend disciplinary hearings; and that consumers now have the right to speak publicly about
their complaints against lawyers.
