The Supreme Court of Tennessee has appointed William Ferber Tracy as the new Chairman of the Board of Professional Responsibility for the 2007 year. Mr. Tracy graduated from Duke University in 1964 (B.A. English). He attended Duke University School of Law, graduating in 1967. He began the practice of law in 1967 as an associate with Spears, Moore, Rebman & Williams, a general practice firm in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and has been a member of that firm since 1972.   continued...

Lawyering and the Good Life - By By David N. Shearon, JD, MAPP
"Were you this happy when you were practicing law?" The attorney who asked this question was sitting on the back row at one of the Lawyering and the Good Life seminars we have conducted recently. He didn't look happy. In fact, he frowned through much of the seminar and left before it was over. Obviously he had doubts that it was possible to practice law and be happy at the same time. Others may share those doubts, and still others may question the importance of the topic. We think the question of whether more lawyers can be happier practicing law is an important one - it has great impact on the possibility of greater lawyer professionalism.  continued...
