In October, 2003 the Board of Professional Responsibility sought input from the Bar regarding a proposed formal ethics opinion on what types of claims or representations in attorney advertisements are false or misleading in violation of Rule 7.1, Rules of Professional Conduct.

After receiving comments from individual lawyers and bar associations the Board of Professional Responsibility proposes a new draft.
