The IOLTA (Interest On Lawyers' Trust Accounts) program is one of the most far-reaching
of the Tennessee Bar Foundation. The
program allows attorneys to convert their pooled
trust checking accounts to NOW accounts which earn interest. Interest earned on these
accounts is sent directly from the participating financial institutions of Tennessee
to the Foundation. In turn, the Foundation makes grants from these monies in accordance
with the 1984 Supreme Court Order: for the provision of legal services to the indigent,
for law student scholarships or loans and for programs which improve the administration
of justice. Learn more at the Tennessee Bar Foundation web site.
The foundation may be contacted by email at info@tnbarfoundation.org.
